STEM-ulating College For a Day: STEM-ulating the Next Generation of
Creative Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics Professionals
WHAT: 15th Annual STEM-Ulating College for a Day 2014. This is event is organized by the Missouri City Links Inc., and sponsored by Chevron, Schlumberger, TSU College of Science and Technology, Comcast, Centerpoint, and HEB.
WHEN: Saturday, April 5, 2014 from 8am-3pm
WHERE: TSU’s Science and Technology Building (on Ennis between
Wheeler and Cleburne Avenues)
WHO: 300 Students from E-STEM Central Middle School, E-STEM Central
High School, KIPP Academy-Sunnyside Campus, Victory Preparatory Academy, and Young Men’s Preparatory Academy will attend. All HISD schools.
The students will don lab coats to do scientific experiments lead by TSU graduate students on subjects ranging from metal and water reactions, ROBOTICS, ELECTROMAGNETICS and studying blood plasma and typing. There will be SCIENCE BOWLS throughout the day, and professionals in global STEM careers will speak about the opportunities.
The students will get a campus tour from student ambassadors and learn about financial aid, and admissions. Additonally: 5 NEW LAPTOPS WILL BE AWARDED BY COMCAST
